Technology Stack
The application is built using modern, edge-ready web technologies with a focus on client-side performance and minimal backend reliance.
Core Framework
SvelteKit & Svelte 5
Version: ^2.70.2 (Kit), ^5.56.8 (Core)
Provides the SPA routing and the reactive component model. We leverage Svelte Runes for all application state, moving away from legacy stores to a more granular, signal-based reactivity model.
Tailwind CSS v4
Version: ^4.3.3
Used for all application styling. The design system is built heavily on CSS variables mapped to Tailwind configuration, enabling a lightweight and highly customizable UI.
Vite & Vitest
Version: ^8.2.1
Our build tool and test runner. The project relies on Vite's fast HMR for development and static compilation for production.
Data & I/O
File System Access API
Native Browser API
Used for Local Edit Mode. Allows the application to request permission to read and write directly to a local directory, enabling true local-first development without a backend.
@octokit/rest
Version: ^22.0.1
Used for Remote Edit Mode. Interacts directly with the GitHub API from the browser to read the repository and push commits optimistically.
js-yaml & marked
Used in the Domain Service layer to parse Markdown files and their YAML frontmatter into strongly-typed Issue objects.
Collaboration
Yjs & Hocuspocus
Version: ^13.6.32
Implements CRDT (Conflict-free Replicated Data Types) state management for real-time multiplayer collaboration. Yjs handles the data structures while Hocuspocus provides the WebSocket transport layer.
